FWSentry

FWSentry is short for Firewall Sentry. It was designed as the next generation automated security package for Unix / Linux based systems adapted to a wide variety of host operating systems and firewall backends.

The main focus of this project is high performance and ultra rapid response times. Typically it can totally shut down large scale distributed attacks against a server in few seconds, and smaller scale attacks in micro-seconds.

The other highlight of the package is to dramatically reduce the amount of time and energy wasted by admins while keeping the systems being protected as safe as possible.

The software package has a wide variety of available options and can perform a wide variety of duties related to preventing attacks and containing abuses of servers, while keeping them fully available to authorized clients.

This software is currently undergoing extensive field testing, prior to release.

If you are reading this page because you have received an automatic Security Violation Notice email, you can respond to the administrator of the system that caught the violations, and the author of this package by replying to that email.

For an example of one of the options available to system administrators, here is an example Offender Blacklist Report from a live system currently testing this software.

FWSentry will be distributed free, for use on any applicable system without restriction.
